My name is Mary Maestre

I am a fashion designer and specialize in formal, elegant dress alterations, and tailoring. I am able to create or reformat your dream formal attire and have extensive experience in bridal dress alterations.

 

My background and experience dates back to when I graduated in 1984 from La Escuela de Diseños de Modas en Bogota, Colombia (Arturo Tejada School of fashion design). I started my career opening up a storefront location in Barranquilla Colombia after college selling designs and dresses I created. In addition, I sold my creations to boutiques and other stores around the city. This created great referral from clients and wholesalers and I ran a successful business for 13 years.

 

With growth came expansion and in 1997 I was able to relocate and open a boutique in the city of Bogota, Colombia. I continued my career there making alterations and creating formal dress and bridal dresses for my clients until 2000.

 

In 2001 my family and I relocated to the United States. Here I began working at formal wear retailer David’s Bridal. While employed there I continued mastering my craft in alterations and adjustments to all types of formal and bridal dresses. My time here gave me the opportunity to learn new techniques, learn new styles and patterning that has allowed me to gain valuable experience.

 

Today I run and operate my own tailoring business from my home. My goal is to be able to assist customer’s who need my services for that special day of their lives to be perfect. My greatest compliment is to have my customer’s happy and satisfied with there formal and bridal dress alterations.
